We currently offer Higher Arts Education in Design through two pathways: Graphic Design and Fashion Design. These programmes are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (240 ECTS) and enjoy full recognition within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). These studies have been offered since the 2012-2013 academic year. We also offer Higher Arts Education Master’s Degree in Illustration.
Estación Diseño is an institution connected with our city, Granada, and deeply committed with full and equitable access and opportunities for everyone regardless nationality, sex, gender or any other individualities. Our facilities ensure universal access to people with any functional diversity or special needs.
Our international scheme is based on several items:
– International Department, responsible for coordinating and executing incoming and outgoing mobilities, coordinated with the principal, the head teacher and the academic departments.
– Current and future bilateral agreements with Higher Education Institutions (HEI) of different countries, which enrich students and staff cultural, academic and scientifically.
– Estación Diseño is also prepared to make agreements with non European countries in order to broaden our network.
– Traineeship agreements with companies to enhance our students‘ skills at a professional and personal level in an international environment.
Our programmes focus on the transmission of technical, methodological, and creative competences all designers should master, combined with a strong sense of social responsibility. Since its foundation, our institution has aimed to improve public understanding of design culture, in order to promote recognition of its value at every level in society (business sector, public institutions and the general public). For this purpose, we have set up active partnerships with the Asociación Andaluza de Diseñadores (Andalusian Designers Association), University of Granada, Asociación de Jóvenes Empresarios (Young Entrepreneurs Association), and public institutions supporting business enterprise such as the Andalusian Public Foundation ‘Andalucía Emprende’. In collaboration with these partners we organize regular external activities such as exhibitions, entrepreneur training courses, conferences, teaching workshops, etc.
Our programmes include cross-cutting themes regarding the relationship between design, ecology and environmental care. Our goal is to raise awareness about these global issues among the professionals of the future.
Another main goal is to use design as a tool for the preservation and renewal of Andalusia’s cultural heritage. In consequence, Andalusian culture is a central topic in our classes and in other activities we organise. In this regard we collaborate with partners such as the Museo de la Memoria de Andalucía and the Centro Andaluz de Emprendimiento in Granada.
For our institution, internationalization goes beyond receiving foreign students in our facilities. It is a priority to educate professionals and citizens capable of introducing a solid, sustainable and stable development model. Internationalization is also essential for our constant improvement and to reach excellence in our programmes.
We believe that collaborating with other institutions and firms both in Spain and abroad is a key factor to offering a high quality design education, as well as to furthering our goal of promoting public understanding of design culture. On the one hand, we would certainly like our students to benefit from educational exchanges and internships abroad. On the other hand, we also wish our own institution to be improved and enriched by students, teachers, and staff from other HEIs. We are confident, that future international visitors will have a great deal of opportunities to enjoy at our center.
Furthermore, we are looking forward to sharing our project with other educational institutions and companies and to learn from their own experiences. We would like to create a collaboration network through Europe and the rest of the world.
We would like to work together with institutions with a similar vision, driving towards international integration and sharing our commitment to a multidisciplinary approach to design and to training designers with a professional cutting-edge approach.
